Gut Health Network 2015 Travel Awards

The Gut Health Network is pleased to announce travel funds available to support postgraduate students travelling to national or international conferences or courses. 

Two rounds of funding are available – the first is due Monday June 8, 2015 and the second is due Monday October 5, 2015.  Two travel bursaries of up to $500 each will be awarded each round.

Purpose:

To enable students to attend a conference or course relevant to their research and that of the Gut Health Network.

Eligibility:

Students must be:

• enrolled in postgraduate study (including 4th year Hons, Master’s, Ph.D, part-time or full-time)

• supervised by a member of the Gut Health Network

• attending a conference/course relevant to the research goals of Gut Health Network

• presenting their own research data at the meeting

Application procedure:

The following documents are to be submitted to kirsten.coppell@otago.ac.nz:

1. current CV including (unofficial) academic record
2. research abstract submitted to conference
3. a statement outlining the benefits of attending the conference to both the student and the Gut Health Network
4. amount requested (not exceeding $500)

Assessment Criteria:

Primarily the scientific excellence and clarity of abstract, the CV and the benefit to the Gut Health Network, as judged by the Awards Sub-Committee of the Gut Health Network

Value:

Up to $500 NZD

It is a condition of the award that recipients present their research at a Gut Health Network Forum within 18 months of attending the conference or course.
